The MIC softball powers have to really like their draw in the upcoming sectional tournaments. Here is a quick look at how lady luck smiled on the conference squads.

Carmel must simply be living right. The Greyhounds not only drew into the bye round of the Fishers Sectional, but also avoided both HCC powers, Noblesville and Hamilton Southeastern, until the final. This one could not have shaped up better for the MIC entrant.

At Warren Central, the host and highly regarded Warriors could not have done much better. They drew Indianapolis Broad Ripple in the opening round and would then face the winner of Lawrence Central versus fellow MIC squad North Central in the semi-final. Cathedral or Lawrence North will wait in the championship tilt. Warren Central should survive this one.

Center Grove will have to traverse Perry Township to reach the finals of the Franklin Sectional. The Trojans will open versus an improved Southport squad and the winner will see Perry Meridian in the second round. Look for the Trojans to be regional bound.

Finally, at Northview, Terre Haute South and city rival North should settle matters between them in the semi-finals. South opens with Martinsville while North sees Plainfield. Mooresville will likely wait in the title bout.
