Despite Monday night's downpour, Churchill's girls lacrosse team played a consistently strong game offensively and defensively in a 15-12 win over Bethesda-Chevy Chase in the 4A West region semifinals.
Churchill junior Zoe Kabelac continued her phenomenal postseason play with five goals. Senior Angela Biciocchi and junior Sophia Ein each notched three goals and two assists.
Jackie Nolan, Jamie Oppenheimer, Emily Heger and Katie Ruben each tallied one goal.
Churchill will play the winner of Tuesday's Blake-Walter Johnson game, which was suspended at halftime with the score tied at 5, Wednesday at home at 6 p.m.
