An American Legion game took place Tuesday at Douglas Freeman, as Ashland Post 206 defeated Lakeside Post 125 13-3.
But a Home Run Derby broke out in the third and fourth inning.
In the top of the third, Ashland's
Kyle Stanley took a pitch well over the 365-foot fence in right for a 3-0 lead.
Lakeside center fielder
Mac Hudgins answered with a two-run shot of his own to cut the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the third.
But then
Taylor Sandefur blasted a grand slam in the top of the fourth inning as Ashland led 7-2 and didn't look back.
Sandefur had five RBI on the night, going 3 for 5. Stanley had that one RBI but was walked four times.
Chris Dyer went 2 for 3 to pace Lakeside.
