(July 9, 2009) - Broad Run High School recently graduated senior Haley Johnson wrapped up her high school career last month by leading the Spartans to a third straight AA state title but the honors keep on coming for the catcher.

This week she led the East team to a 3-1 win in the Virginia High School Coaches Association All-Star game and was named East MVP with two hits and a walk, including a double and two runs driven in. The day before the all-star contest, Johnson was named the AA Softball Player of the Year for the state. Also making first team AA All-State along with Johnson were Broad Run pitcher Judy Betz and first base Jenn Soroka. Spartan outfielder Anna Blessing was named second team All-State.
