The Lexington Catholic Knights 7th Grade team defeast the Bondurant Braves 7th Grade team 28-6 for their 2nd Gridiron Conference win of the 2008 season. The Knights came out with two great drives in the 1st quarter on a Noah Mitchell 20 yard run for the 1st and a 32 yard pass from QB Reese Ryan to Noah Mitchell for the 2nd score. The Knights suffered a score on special teams, as the Braves returned the kick-off 60 yards. The Knights turned it back on in the 2nd half to pull away for the final score of 28-6. Josh Mesmer had his first touch down of his football career on a 27 yard run. The final touchdown came on a 34 yard pass from Reese Ryan to receiver Scott Pippen. Marty Brown intercepted a Braves' pass for defense.
The 7th Grade team is now 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in Gridiron Conference play.
The Knights face their southern rival Whitley County on the 13th of September in the Rock Hard Bowl.
