MARYVALE GETS TO FINISH WHAT IT'S STARTED

Lions are top seed for IAAM B volleyball tournament; defending champ Bryn Mawr is second

         After going unbeaten during the regular season, Maryvale Prep has the No. 1 seed for the IAAM B Conference tournament which begins Monday afternoon. The Lions will host either Notre Dame Prep or Mercy in the semifinal round Halloween afternoon.

         Defending champ Bryn Mawr is seeded second, and will play St. John's Catholic Prep in the quarterfinals Monday. The other quarterfinal matches Monday will feature Roland Park at Baltimore Lutheran and Mercy at Notre Dame Prep.

         Game time is 4:15 for the quarterfinals and semifinals. The championship game will be Nov. 3 at Villa Julie College.

Quarterfinals, Monday Oct. 29
No. 7 St. John's Catholic at No. 2 Bryn Mawr

The Mawrtians appear ready to defend title with six straight league victories. St. John's Catholic didn't win a game in league play this fall.  

No. 6 Roland Park at No. 3 Baltimore Lutheran

The teams split during regular season with each winning on the road. Lutheran dropped its last two league home games against Maryvale and Bryn Mawr.

No. 5 Mercy at No. 4 Notre Dame Prep

The home team won during the two regular season meetings. Notre Dame Prep was only team to take Maryvale five games during the regular season.
