OIA Girls Basketball Playoffs – Red Division
Aiea d. Farrington, 57-54 (OT)
Aiea’s Natasha Helsham made a free throw with :05 in regulation to tie the game at 50 and force overtime. In the extra period, Capri Holiona makes a field goal with :31 left to tie the game at 54-54.
After a Farrington turnover, Helsham got fouled while penetrating to the basket. A technical was called on the Governor bench allowing Aiea to attempt 4 free throws with :01 remaining. Helsham made 2 free throws and Holiona sank 1 to give Na Ali’I the 3-point victory.
Kalani d. Kahuku, 67-37
Kalani used full court pressure and consistent shooting from the field to dominate the game from the beginning. Four Falcon players scored in double figures to lead the Kalani. Iwalani Rodrigues scored 17 points followed by Chloe Martin with 15, most from behind the 3-point line.
Taeja Afalava and Alana Galeai each scored 9 points for the Red Raiders.
