RAIDERS HANG ON TO DEFEAT CRUSADERS
Iolani 35 - Saint Louis 30
The Raiders defense stopped the Crusaders on fourth and goal from the four yard line with 10 seconds remaining in the game to seal a 35-30 ILH varsity football victory over the Crusaders at Aloha Stadium.
The Crusaders led 24-21 at half-time and the score remained the same after the third quarter. The Crusaders had the lone scoring opportunity of the quarter, but its field goal attempt hit the goal post and fell back into the end zone.
Iolani regained the lead at 28-24 early in the fourth quarter and extended its lead to 35-24 midway through the fourth quarter on recovery of a bad snap on a Crusader punt attempt which found its way into the end zone.
The Crusaders scored a touchdown with a little over two minutes left in the game. They failed on the ensuing two-point conversion but managed to cut into the Raiders lead 35-30.
Iolani recovered the onside kick attempt but was forced to punt the ball back to Saint Louis.
The Crusaders without any timeouts managed to drive from its own 34 yard line all the way down to the Raider four yard line.
The game featured six lead changes and was tied once at 7-7.
Kamehameha 48 - Damien 0
The Warriors raced out to a quick 20-0 lead midway through the first quarter and never looked back in a 48-0 ILH Division I varsity football win over the Monarchs at Aloha Stadium.
Kamehameha led 41-0 at halftime. The game was played under the mercy rule in the second half.
