Indian Creek tops Cardin in boys soccer, 5-0

Hurlbutt nets two first-half goals to pace ICS

Freshman Peirce Hurlbutt scored two goals to lead the Indian Creek School to a 5-0 victory over Cardin in a out-of-conference boys soccer game Tuesday.

ICS (1-1), an MIAA C Conference squad, opened a 4-0 halftime lead behind goals from Taylor Merritt (unassisted), Julius Smith (unassisted) and two from Hurlbutt (assisted by Allen Hofstetter and Michael McCormick). The lone second half goal was scored by Michael McCormick. 

Starting goalkeeper Justin Bengel and backup Isaac Helfmann combined for the shutout.
