The St. Mary's High School boys basketball team used a balanced offensive attack to subdue Annapolis Area Christian School in an MIAA B Conference basketball game last night, 65-46.

The Saints (17-8 overall, 10-3 in the conference) clinched first place in the South Division of the B Conference with this win.

"We played our best defensive game of the year," said St. Mary's coach Brian Konik, whose team jumped to a 31-20 halftime lead. "We had four players in double figures on the other end of the floor."

Junior guards Nick Groce and Nick Goub paced the Saints in scoring with 11 points each. Sophomore Marcus Snipes and junior Jonathon Akpapunam each chipped in 10.

"I'm very proud of our team; we were able to maintain our winning form despite losing our top scorer Josh-Morgan Green," said Konik, whose team has won three straight.

Morgan-Green has been sidelined with a broken left hand since the holiday break. He's expected back hopefully before the playoffs.

Senior guard Christian Parker finished with a game-high 13 points for the Eagles (8-13, 3-9). Junior guard Pat Lipinkski added seven points.
