William Rosemond, Jr., a longtime coaching fixture in Anne Arundel County AAU basketball, has been named the new girls varsity basketball head coach at Archbishop Spalding, the school announced Monday.

Rosemond is a resident of Anne Arundel County and he served on the coaching staff at Severna Park High School, last year.  In addition he is very familiar with the surrounding community and the local talent, through his time on the AAU circuit, where he has coached with Maryland Hurricanes program, over the past five years.

“I am very familiar with Spalding’s program and the awesome reputation it has carried over the years," said Rosemond, who is replacing Deb Taylor.  "I am ready to lead it to even greater levels of excellence.”

According to the school, Rosemond is looking forward to working with the local county youth organizations by offering various basketball clinics and camps in order to attract talented student-athletes to Spalding.
