Mount de Sales graduates Caitlin Hoffen and Meg Decker, respectively, of George Mason and Navy, were honored recently for their outstanding freshmen seasons in womens' lacrosse.

Hoffen was named to the All-Rookie Colonial Athletic Association team after leading her team in caused turnovers and ground balls.

Hoffen was second in the Conference in caused turnovers, fourth in ground balls, and 17th in the NCAA in caused turnovers.

Former Sailors' teammates met on the lacrosse field when Caitlin played against Kelly Wetzel, a 2004 Mount de Sales graduate, during Kelly’s final game at James Madison University.

At Navy, Decker concluded her first season by ranking among the nation’s leaders in goals scored, total points, and draw controls.

Decker received a first-team All-Patriot League selection and ranked second on the team with 76 points, 63 goals and 58 draw controls.

Among the nation's freshmen, Decker ranked third in points, third in goals and first in draw controls.
