Broad Run Lacrosse Coach Phil Truitt Resigns
Started Spartan boys program in 2001, won three straight Dulles District titles

Ashburn (Aug. 14, 2008) - Broad Run High School’s Men’s Lacrosse Coach Phil Truitt has announced his resignation.
Coach Truitt has been the Head coach since 2001 when Lacrosse was first recognized in Loudoun County as a Varsity sport. During his seven year tenure as head coach, the Spartans won 82 games while losing 30.
Broad Run Won District titles in 2006,’07,&’08, and won the District Tourney in ‘06 and ‘08
In 2006, the Spartans also captured the Region II title
In addition to District and Regional Titles, the Spartans also Qualified for the VHSL State Tourney twice under Coach Truiett.
Truiett was named Coach of the Year in the Dulles District in 2004 and 2006. Also in ’06 Truiett was also named Coach of the Year by the US Lacrosse Associaton as well as the Loudoun Times Mirror.
Broad Run AD Jack Kirby said that “Coach Truiett did an outstanding job of getting the program started at Broad Run, He will be missed.”
A replacement for Coach Truiett has not been named yet.
