MEMORIES
John Tierney - Mater Dei: In the summer of 97 I was playing for the Monmouth
team and we were playing at Brick. The game was delayed for 1 hour at
halftime due to lighting. The coaches took that time to but in a
special play for Billy Shea and he took it 85 yards around the left
side to score the go ahead TD. But on the Ocean sidelines was a flag
that called the electric run back. We managed to score later in the second
half, but we were stopped on the two-point play and lost 15-13. It was a great
game and the whole week from start to finish was great. I still talk to
the players from that game.
