* John Marshall rising junior Travis McKie scored 22 points to lead BYC (1-0).

“I played good. Last year you just had to pay your dues,” said McKie, who didn’t get much playing time in last year’s summer league.
“Young dudes don’t get no burn like that. So this year I just wanted to
show and prove that I can play.”

McKie is fresh off of the NBA Top 100 Camp that summer league teammate Karon Johnson attended. Johnson, a Richmond native playing at the Patterson School in North Carolina, scored 15 points for BYC. C.T. Thornton (13 points), Herb Jones (12) and Justin Harper (10) also reached double figures.

Ed Young led ASSIST (0-1) with 20 points. Chris Washington dropped 17, all after the first quarter. Dazmond Starke and Aaron Mitchell both scored 14 points.

* After throwing in 26 points on opening night, Bo Jones returned to put in 27 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Wallace Express (2-0). Wayne Wallace (17 points) also scored in double figures.

Change was led by a 20-point performance from Virginia State’s Trey Mines.

* Tyree Evans registered 29 points, and fellow George Wythe product Chris Greene added 24 to lead DTLR/Cosmopolitan Lounge (1-1) to its first win of the season after falling to Wallace Express by one point Tuesday. Kendrick Warren added 17 points for DTLR and Lamar Taylor had eight.

Fete International (1-1) was led by Andre Ingram, who had 19 points, 17 in the second half for the NBDL player, who will suit up with the Utah Jazz’ summer league squad in a few weeks. Chris Moss and Demarco Williams both put in 16 points, and George Johnson added nine in a matchup with brother Taylor.
