A torn ACL has Chaney LaReau on injured reserve. Come 2009-10 she should be at full strength with two years remaining.
She's a freshman?
That's what some were wondering in VCU's Siegel Center this past fall as
Chaney LaReau was at the forefront of Deep Run's repeat as state champions in volleyball.
Fast forward to the spring season, and there LaReau was again, bouncing around in a blue jersey leading another Deep Run team to the state tournament, this time as a defender on the soccer team.
She's obviously well beyond her years. Unfortunately, LaReau tore her ACL recently and will have surgery Monday to repair it. She's doubtful to make a return to anything for the 2008-09 season.
But don't forget about her, she'll still have two seasons left to terrorize the opposition.
