Ronnie Shaban helped create a winning atmosphere at Cosby. Now he will head to Virginia Tech to try and make an impact there.
Meet Mr. Utility.
Ronnie Shaban is listed as a pitcher on the all-DigitalSports baseball team but don't let that fool you.
The co-Dominion District player of the year from
Cosby can do it all.
Need a big hit?
Not a problem, Shaban batted .485 with nine homers, 22 RBI and a slugging percentage of .939.
How about an important start on the mound?
Shaban has got you covered there, too. During the regular season he went 5-0 with a 0.46 ERA with 37 strikeouts in the five games he started.
And that's not all. Whether he is in the field at shortstop or second base he is more than capable of coming up with a few spectacular plays to save base hits.
Shaban was also selected as
DigitalSports player of the week in May.
The Titans won the regular season district title before falling to James River in the district tournament and Central Region final. Cosby was then knocked out of states in a rain shortened quarterfinal game.
A first-team all-region selection, Shaban will take all his tools with him as he heads to Virginia Tech on a baseball scholarship.
