Two sophomores did the scoring as Thomas Dale defeated Hanover 3-0 Tuesday afternoon in the Central Region girls soccer quarterfinals.
Hailey Flores scored twice, once in each half, and Sarah Haws added another in the first half.
The Knights move on to face Mills Godwin, a 1-0 winner over Cosby, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Cosby High School in the semifinals.
The winner earns a berth into the region final and the state Group AAA tournament.
“My team played a really nice ball through,” Flores said. “I just hustled as fast as I could and drove up the field and scored. So, it was nice.
“It’s really nice to win the first round, but no resting. We have a tough, tough game [Wednesday].”
