Douglas Freeman ended third period on a 10-2 run to take a four-point lead into the fourth period that it wouldn’t relinquish in a 53-47 victory over Henrico in the Holiday Hoops Tournament presented by Fox Richmond and DigitalSports.
Henrico led 27-15 at the break before the Rebels won the third period 20-4 en route to third place in the three-day tourney.
Philip Rohrer had 20 points, and Patrick O’Connor 16 for the Rebels.
Semir Susic put in 10 points for the Rebels, including three 3-pointers. In fact, Freeman finished 10 for 17 from the 3-point line, only one shot better from the free-throw line (11 for 17).
For Henrico, Kris Walden turned in another fabulous first half with 16 points in the contest, including four 3-point bombs. Evan Thorpe added 10 for the Warriors, Michael Johnson eight.
