Miriam Kenyon, Athletic Director, Bell SHS
Miriam Kenyon, Athletic Director of Bell Multicultural High School, is
entering her third year of service as AD for Bell. Kenyon is looking to
build upon and strengthen the existing athletic programs at Bell, as
well as to increase the offerings. This year, Bell has added a JV
football team. "This is the first football team Bell has had in twelve
years," said Coach E, Bell's new Strength and Conditioning Coach. In
addition to the JV football team, Kenyon has added a girls varsity
basketball team, a swimming team, and a wrestling team. Kenyon hopes to
add a gymnastics team, an equestrian team, and a varsity football team
in the future.
Bell is just coming off of a major championship win by
the girls volleyball team. Bell's girls volleyball team battled Wilson
for 10 years and was finally able to take back the championship title
this year. Kenyon indicated several other accomplishments of Bell's
athletic teams including a third place DCIAA win for the girls varsity
soccer team, a league championship win by the boys soccer team, and a
second place win for the cross country team. "We have over 100 student
athletes participating in sports at Bell," Kenyon said. Kenyon has
focused on increasing participation of students in athletic programs,
and hopes to continue to build upon the success of Bell in the future.
