H.D.
Woodson Assistant Football Coach Spurgeon said, "I'm glad. He did what he
had to do. He worked extra hard to get noticed by the NFL. To be drafted is an
honor. I talked to him Sunday night,
and he was very happy. He said that he's going to California in the next few
weeks for training camp. He's a great kid and a hard worker, and I am very
proud of him."
Morgan
joins the ranks of Byron Leftwich, Roland Minor and Orlando Brown, all alumni
of H.D. Woodson SHS drafted by the NFL. Defensive Coach Johnson
has been coaching at H.D. Woodson for the last 16 years. He said, “I feel pretty good
about Morgan being drafted. He always did everything we told him to do. He's a
genuine young man. It was a pleasure to coach him. He's pretty much like my
son. We’ve spent a lot of time going to different football camps over the
years, and he’s a great athlete. He was a great basketball player, too, one of
the best in the area.”
Morgan
is an example of the talent of H.D. Woodson SHS. H.D. Woodson has supported and
nurtured its student-athletes to be successful and hard-working contributors to
