by Amy Russellarussell@digitalsports.comRudy Ruettiger, made famous by Hollywood’s “Rudy,” will speak at Cardinal Gibbons School Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7pm.
“Rudy,” based off of Ruettiger’s real life story, follows an undersized football player who makes his way onto Notre Dame’s field to achieve a lifelong goal of playing for the Fighting Irish. During the event, attendees will see actual film footage of the Nov. 8, 1978 Notre Dame game that turned Rudy into one of the most well-known underdog stories. Ruettiger will retell his story, explaining the importance of dedication and perseverance with encouragement and motivation.
Cardinal Gibbins will host the international youth motivational speaker in the auditorium, and proceeds will go to benefit the school.
