“We are excited to see our young student athlete’s progress through high school towards college when given the correct knowledge, examples, experience, and confidence in their academic & athletic potential” says Asai Gilman, Executive Director of Education-1st Hawaii.  “We believe that all student athletes can go to college, obtain a degree, and contribute to Hawaii’s future.”

Game Plan Student Athlete Academy will be held June 27 and 28 at BYU Hawaii campus and Game Plan Football Academy will be held June 30, July 1 and 2 at the Aloha Stadium.  It features a college simulated experience that teaches habits for successful transitions to college, college level athletic skills, and the development of successful mindsets for Hawaii’s athletes.  High school students lead by current college athletes who desire to give back to their communities work together to learn the rigors of creating a successful life as a student athlete. The whole goal of the program is to help student athletes obtain a college degree and capitalize on their athletic talents so prevalent in Hawaii’s youth. In addition, a program is held for younger age athletes called Junior Football Academy held July 2 at the Aloha Stadium.
