(See video below)DigitalSports' Gerrard Shelley has posted video of then-Douglass High player Richard "Joey" Dorsey, presently the star center for NCAA finalist University of Memphis, as he led the Ducks to a school-record mark of 28-0 and their program's first state title in 2002.
Dorsey -- who wore jersey No. 15 -- was a 6-foot-8 player in his first year of organized basketball when he averaged nearly 12 points, nearly seven blocks and 12 rebounds on the way to helping the Ducks to defeat Gwynn Park of Prince George's County for the Class 3A state title.
In the Ducks' state title-winning effort against Gwynn Park, a 76-72 victory, Dorsey blocked eight shots, grabbed 12 boards and scored 20 points.
Dorsey has helped to guide Memphis to a single-season record mark of 38 victories against just one loss as they enter the title game opposite Kansas in San Antonio.
