Alayna Markwordt had four each in goals and asssts, Brie Kitchelt scored five goals and assisted on two others, Kristy Black had two each in goals and assists, Lauren Giraldi scored three times and Alyssa Felix scored twice with an assist as Glenelg of Howard County withstood a brilliant effort by South Carroll for a 16-12 victory in Friday's Class 2A-1A playoffs.
Also contributing were the Gladiators' was goalie Katie Beaver with 14 saves, and both Katie Grogan and Katie Chase with one assist each, despite an outstanding, 24-save effort in defeat by the Cavaliers' goalie, Brigid McTavish.
In defeat, Rachel Bartee scored three times and had two assists, Erin Slifer scored twice with as many assists, Sheridan Renshaw and Katie DeFilippo scored three times each, Jess Considine contributed three assists, Abby Eisold contributed two assists, and Spencer Kraus, one goal and one assist for the Cavaliers.
