The Whiteland Warriors laid claim to at least a share of the
Mid-State crown Friday night. The 4A #5 and undefeated Warriors blasted Martinsville 49-14 to
move to 5-0 in the conference and 8-0 overall on the season. The victory leaves
Whiteland with a one game lead over Plainfield
with only the regular season finale left to play. Whiteland will try to secure
an outright title at Decatur Central this coming Friday.
Plainfield
remained in contention for at least a share of the conference crown and knocked
Mooresville out of that position at the same time. The Quakers dispatched the
Pioneers 21-9 Friday night. Video of that game is available in the conference
and school pages. Plainfield will close the
season at Greenwood
next week.
Elsewhere in the Mid-State, Franklin
put an end to a bad streak of the season with a 23-21 upset of Greenwood. Decatur Central lost out of
conference to Indianapolis Roncalli 28-21.
