A.J. Sutherlin, one of North Montgomery’s “big two” this
past basketball season, has signed to play his college basketball at Elmhurst College. Elmhurst
is a Division III school in Elmhurst
Illinois. Sutherlin chose the
school over St. Joseph
in Renssalaer.
The 6’5” Sutherlin averaged 18-7 points a game for the
Chargers in his senior season and finished his career among the top ten scorers
in school history. He was primarily a post player in high school but is
projected to play on the wing at Elmhurst.
Sutherlin is going to a successful program. Elmhurst finished 18-8 last season and the
program has won nearly 200 games during the decade.
