It is just about time for round two! The sectional softball
pairings are in and like other sports, the sectional is a repeat of conference
play for most Sagamore schools. The action will be hosted at the newly
renovated field at Southmont beginning May 19th.
Lebanon
and North Montgomery will meet in the opening
round game. The Chargers took both regular season games from the Tigers at the
beginning of this month.
The other half of the bracket has Western Boone facing Danville and Southmont
staring at the 600 pound gorilla in Crawfordsville. WeBo and Danville have yet to face each other this
season which sets up an interesting scenario. The two teams will play their
season two game series next week. That means they will play each other three
straight times. There certainly will be no secrets left in this one. Southmont will see a Crawfordsville team that
has lost only once in route to the regular season Sagamore championship. The
Athenians took the season series. The Mounties will hope the home field
advantage can help them spring the upset.
