Prince George's County
(Friday night games)

Class 4A
Eleanor Roosevelt 60, High Point 0
Roosevelt senior quarterback Mike Thomas threw four touchdowns — two to Penn State recruit Derrick Thomas — and ran for two more scores to lead the Raiders to a 52-0 halftime lead. Senior Darius Clair returned the second half kickoff 80 yards before Roosevelt put in its second and third stringers. The Eagles have been outscored 215-0 through four games and is the only team within the county yet to score.

Class 3A/2A/1A
Friendly 20, McDonough 15
After allowing two straight touchdowns, Friendly fought back in non-league action on the road Friday night. Down 13-6, sophomore quarterback Sherrod Baltimore connected with senior wideout Alex Blake on a 69-yard touchdown pass to Alex Blake. The Patriots' Dewayne Price, who scored the game's opening touchdown, capped Friendly's scoring with a five-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter. After losing in the season opener, Friendly has reeled off three straight wins as a road date with Frederick Douglass looms.

Largo 28, Fairmont Heights 6
With both teams searching for their first wins, Fairmont Heights scored first behind Timothy Tyler's 37-yard run. But Largo, who lost an eight-point heartbreaker to Forestville a week ago, bounced back when quarterback Daquan Markham found senior wide receiver Kevin Turentine for a 69-yard score a couple of plays later. Markham found the endzone again via the ground, as did Dondra Hunt-Owens and Thomas Dixon. It marked the Lions first home win in almost two years.

(Saturday afternoon games)

Class 4A
Bladensburg 28, Parkdale 0
Through the first four weeks of the season, the Blandensburg defense has been the best in the county, having only allowed 12 points. The Mustangs pitched their second shutout of the season to notch their third straight win, which hasn't been done in almost 20 years. With a winnable game against DuVal next weeks, Blandensburg is the feel-good story of the first half of the season. The downside is the second half of the schedule is littered with tough teams. Parkdale, on the other hand, has managed only seven points all season.

C.H. Flowers 7, Henry Wise 6
C.H. Flowers remained as one of three unbeaten 4A teams, holding off feisty Wise on the road by a single point. After outscoring their first three opponents by a 121-14 margin, the Jaguars defense held tough in stuffing Wise's only two-point conversion attempt. Wise's Anthony Wright, who rushed for 220 yards in a victory a week ago, managed just 66 yards and the Pumas' lone touchdown. Senior quarterback J.R. Burrell had five carries for 37 yards and 10 tackles defensively, but only completed one pass.

DuVal 39, Bowie 33 (5 OT)
After a tough one-point loss to Blandensburg two weeks ago, Bowie dropped another yet heartbreaker on the road to DuVal on Saturday with the game going into five overtimes. The Tigers evened their record to 2-2 under first-year head coach Dameon Powell and if they covet any sliver of a shot at a second straight postseason berth, they will have to win at least one of the next two road games against Blandensburg and Oxon Hill.

Oxon Hill 35, Laurel 0
After losing consecutive games to Eleanor Roosevelt and Suitland by a combined six points, the Clippers got back in the win column with a shutout victory over winless Laurel. Oxon Hill junior running back Leo Gordon had a team-high 96 yards rushing and two touchdowns, while senior quarterback Mike Wilson also got into the endzone. Wilson, after nearly leading Oxon Hill to a come-from-behind win at Suitland last week, accounted for two touchdowns through the air, completing 5-of-12 passes for 103 yards. Wison also threw two interceptions, but the Clippers' defense made up for it by corralling two interceptions themselves. Oxon Hill had 15 tackles for loss.

Suitland 36, Northwestern-PG 0
After clinging to first half leads at Wise and at home against Oxon Hill over the past two weeks, the Rams easily handled Northwestern in front of the home crowd. For Suitland, who didn't return an offensive starter from last season, it marked the 23rd straight victory over a Prince George's County 4A League opponent dating back to 2006. Northwestern, meanwhile, blitzed High Point for 47 points two weeks ago, but has scored only seven points since.

Class 3A/2A/1A

Central 30, Cardozo (D.C.) 0
The Falcons opened with a road win in the season opener, but had tough times against both Gwynn Park and Douglass over the past two weeks. Stan Hall's team enjoyed their season opener — and Homecoming — with a shutout win over previously unbeaten Cardozo. After evening their record at 2-2, Cental is poised to finish strong with five of its next six games at home.

Douglass-PG 37, Crossland 0
Douglass-PG senior Marcus Alexander had two punt returns for 145 yards and two touchdowns sparked the Eagles to another blowout league victory. Crossland, trying to rebound from a 30-0 defeat from Friendly, couldn't deal with Douglass-PG junior quarterback Richard Barber who had 50 yards rushing — and a touchdown — along with 45 yards passing. The Douglass defense has only allowed 17 points through three games, with three consecutive shutouts on the resume.

Forestville 32, Surrattsville 13
The Knights held on to win over Largo last week, but earned their second consecutive victory with a convincing home win over struggling Surrattsville. Playing their third game in front of the home crowd, Forestville scored 25-plus points for the fourth time this season. Surrattsville, on the other hand, has only managed 26 points over the past three weeks after posting 24 in the season opening win.

Gwynn Park 34, Potomac 6
In what was touted as the county showdown, Gwynn Park asserted itself as a legitimate 2A state title contender in spanking Potomac on the road. After uprooting highly touted Dunbar in the season opener, the Yellow Jackets reeled off an impressive win over Central before back-to-back blowouts over Fairmont Heights and now Potomac. Quarterback Lavaughn Hughes finished with 125 yards rushing and a touchdown, while Nygee Carmichael went for 98 yards and two touchdowns and Khalek Shepherd added 90 yards and another score. With only Friendly and Douglass — teams they face in the last two weeks of the season — as the lone challengers, the Yellow Jackets have an opportunity to finish with a unblemished regular season record.
