It’s Week 1 of the 2009-10 girls basketball season, and the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association has released its first set of polls! Leading the way in the respective classes are Ben Davis (4A), Fort Wayne Elmhurst (3A), Oak Hill (2A), and Fort Wayne Canterbury (1A).

The defending state champion Giants top Mooresville, Jeffersonville, Warren Central, and Carmel in the large-school poll. In 3A, the next four after defending champ Elmhurst are Norwell, Rushville, Evansville Memorial, and Benton Central. 

Oak Hill paces four-time defending champ Heritage Christian, Garrett, Fort Wayne Luers, and Austin in 2A. And, defending champion Canterbury precedes Vincennes Rivet, Barr-Reeve, Turkey Run, and Oregon-Davis.
