Clinton Prairie led the way for Hoosier Heartland schools in
the boys track sectional at Lafayette
Friday evening. The Gophers finished fifth in the team standings. Clinton
Central was seventh on the night and Rossville ended 12th.
The story of the meet was Clinton Prairie’s Nick Seager who
won both the 110 and 300 Meter hurdles. He set a school record in winning the
300 Meter version with a time of 39.21 seconds. He ran a 15.19 in the 110 Meter
event. Joe Beale and Jacob Batts both advanced to next week for the Gophers in
the pole vault. Freshman Slayd Schimmel also advanced after a fourth place
performance in the 100 Meters.
Clinton Central advanced three to regional competition. Matt
Leighty finished fourth in the 300 Meter Hurdles, while Cody cannady did
likewise in the Long Jump and Joe Turner turned in a fourth place finish in the
Discus.
