CBA's Pat Light finished 11-0 on his way to becoming the second straight Colts pitcher to earn Pitcher of the Year honors.
Tyler Gebler's strong all-around season as a pitcher and a shortstop helped Toms River South win Ocean County and Shore Conference Tournament titles.

P - Kevin MacLachlan, Jr., St. John Vianney A Division I prospect and Carpenter Cup selection, the righty went 6-3 with two saves and an ERA of 2.90, striking out 58 in 50 2/3 innings. P - Ryan Harvey, Jr., Manalapan Also a Carpenter Cup selection, the junior righty went 6-3 with a 2.38 ERA while throwing two no-hitters and striking out 55 in 53 innings, and two of his three losses came in relief appearances. P - Casey Cannon, Sr., St. Rose The Delaware recruit finished 7-1 with a 1.66 ERA with 62 strikeouts and 23 walks in 59 innings, including a complete-game three-hitter in a 4-1 win over Bishop Eustace in the Non-Public South B final. He also was the MVP of the Monmouth County Tournament, and as a designated hitter, he hit .365 with 27 hits and 15 RBIs. P - Vinny Vivona, Sr., Toms River South The senior lefty was part of a tremendous Indians' pitching staff as he finished 6-1 and only gave up eight earned runs in 52 innings. He pitched all eight innings in a 3-1 win over Toms River North in the Ocean County Tournament semifinals and pitched five scoreless innings in the OCT final and is headed to Fairleigh Dickinson. C - Nick Turano, Sr., Manalapan A three-year varsity starter, he finished with 106 career hits, including 25 this season while batting .375. He hit five home runs and had 23 RBIs. C - Chris Wedding, Sr., Toms River East A strong defensive catcher, Wedding helped guide one of the Shore's most underrated pitching staffs while also serving as one of the Raiders' top hitters out of the leadoff spot. 1B - Ethan Jackson, Sr., Colts Neck A St. Peter's recruit and three-year starter, Jackson hit .424 while primarily playing first base when he was not pitching, and also saw time at third base. He had 4 doubles, 3 triples, 2 homers, 21 runs scored and 24 RBIs. On the mound, he went 5-4 with a 1.63 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 47 1/3 innings. 2B/SS - Tom Higgins, Sr., Red Bank Catholic A Wagner recruit, Higgins hit .458 with a .527 on-base percentage and 22 stolen bases out of the leadoff spot for the Caseys. He had 30 runs scored, 38 hits, 4 doubles, 3 triples and 17 RBIs while only striking out five times in 93 plate appearances. 2B/SS - Brian Battaglia, Sr., Howell
The Wagner recruit was selected as the "Hitter of
the Year'' by Class A North coaches, as Battaglia batted .423 with 6
doubles, 3 triples, 4 homers, 23 RBIs, 33 hits and 11 stolen bases in
12 attempts. He also only made one error at second base all season. 3B - Kyle O'Neill, Sr., Red Bank Catholic A University of the Pacific recruit, O'Neill hit .386 with a .553 on-base percentage despite missing five games due to injury. He had five doubles, three homers, 16 walks and a team-high 24 RBIs. OF - Steve McSherry, Sr., Christian Brothers Academy One of the few returning starters for the Colts this season, McSherry hit .400 with 27 runs scored, 38 hits, 6 doubles, 4 triples, 2 homers and 22 RBIs while also swiping 11 bases on a team that won the Non-Public South A title. OF - John Lembeck, Sr., Rumson-FH A Carpenter Cup selection, Lembeck hit .506 with an on-base percentage over .600, 31 hits, 24 runs scored, 8 doubles, 34 RBIs and 14 walks for the best team in Bulldogs history. The lefty also went 5-1 with a 1.35 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 30 innings on the mound. OF - C.J. Pratt, Jr., Monmouth One of the fastest players in the area, he finished with 27 stolen bases while hitting .410 with 25 RBIs and 28 runs scored out of the leadoff spot. The Carpenter Cup selection had 34 hits, 8 doubles and 4 triples and had an 18-game hitting streak to start the season for a Falcons team that reached the Central Jersey Group III final. DH - Tom Phillips, Sr., Manasquan Headed to Stevens Institute of Technology to continue his career, Phillips was Manasquan's most dangerous hitter out of the leadoff spot and hit over .400 for the second straight season. DH - Marc Asta, Sr., Jackson As Jackson's leadoff hitter, Asta batted .396 with 38 hits, 23 runs scored, 15 RBIs, 9 doubles, 6 homers, a .444 on-base percentage and a .698 slugging percentage. UT - Brian Calabria, Sr., Barnegat The first Carpenter Cup selection in Barnegat history, Calabria helped the Bengals win a share of their first Class B South title by hitting .341 with a .417 on-base percentage, 6 doubles, 2 triples, 6 homers and 28 RBIs. He also went 4-1 with a 3.07 ERA on the mound and was named "Hitter of the Year'' by Class B South coaches. He will continue his career at Richard Stockton University. UT - Ryan Kresky, Sr., Freehold Named "Hitter of the Year'' by the Class B North coaches, the Colonials' shortstop/pitcher batted .416 with 30 hits, 21 runs scored, 17 RBIs, 8 doubles, 17 walks, a .527 on-base percentage and 7 stolen bases in 7 attempts. He will continue his career at Fairleigh Dickinson.
THIRD TEAM P - Mark Leiter, Jr., Toms River North The righty emerged as the Mariners' ace as the season progressed, finishing 7-1 with a 2.59 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 54 innings along with four complete games for a team that won Class A South and South Jersey Group IV titles. P - Drew Holt, Sr., Toms River South A Carpenter Cup selection, Holt finished 8-2 with a 1.33 ERA and picked up the win with four innings of one-run relief in the Shore Conference Tournament final. He averaged better than one strikeout per inning and threw five shutouts as part of a staff that combined for a school-record 13 shutouts. P - Rob Corsi, Jr., Shore The Blue Devils' ace lefty finished 8-1 with a 1.51 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 64 innings while walking 23. He only allowed more than one earned run in two of his 10 starts and was selected to the Carpenter Cup team. P - Brian Schopka, Jr., Monmouth Voted as Class B North's top pitcher by the coaches, Schopka went 8-2 with a 1.22 ERA and struck out 77 in 69 innings while only walking 14 and allowing 44 hits. C - C.J. Alonso, Sr., Toms River North A standout defensively, Alonso also hit .333 to help the Mariners win Class A South and South Jersey Group IV titles. C - Blake Young-Park, Jr., Neptune Young-Park hit .415 with 27 hits, 17 runs scored, 6 doubles, 6 steals and 15 RBIs while also throwing out 11 of the 17 runners who tried to steal against him. 1B - Matt Cook, Sr., Manalapan Cook led the Shore Conference with nine home runs while batting .369 with a .750 slugging percentage, 33 RBIs and 31 hits. 2B/SS - Paul DeMartino, Sr., Toms River North
A Carpenter Cup selection, DeMartino hit .361 with a
.429 on-base percentage while also serving as one of the Mariners' best
clutch hitters. 2B/SS - D.J. Breckenridge, Sr., Rumson-FH One of the top leadoff hitters in the Shore, he led the conference with 37 stolen bases in 39 attempts and also batted .415 with a .560 on-base percentage, 27 hits, 27 runs scored, 7 doubles, 10 RBIs, and 21 walks. He also was one of the top defensive shortstops in the Shore and helped the Bulldogs win 20 games and reach their first Shore Conference Tournament final. 3B - J.D. Melendez, Sr., Matawan A two-time Carpenter Cup selection, Melendez hit .410 with 32 hits, 24 RBIs, 7 doubles and only four strikeouts in 78 at-bats. As a pitcher, he went 3-4 with a 3.23 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 47 innings, and he will continue his career at William Paterson. OF - Andrew Nowell, Sr., Wall The Crimson Knights' left fielder and Carpenter Cup selection hit .380 with a .473 on-base percentage, 30 hits, 5 doubles, 3 triples, 3 homers and 24 RBIs. He also did not make an error all season, and had the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the ninth in the Central Jersey Group III final against Monmouth. OF - Brandon Lewis, Sr., Neptune Lewis hit .451 with 32 hits, 28 runs scored, 5 doubles, 2 triples, 4 homers, 15 stolen bases and 23 RBIs as the Scarlet Fliers right fielder. OF - Mark Sorbara, So., Freehold Township One of the better young players in the Shore, Sorbara hit .441 with 30 hits, 16 RBIs, 15 runs scored, 13 walks and only four strikeouts in 86 plate appearances. He also did not make any errors in right field on 44 chances. DH - Jeremy Paster, Sr., Marlboro
Paster helped key a Mustangs resurgence by batting
.470 with 8 doubles, 4 homers and 29 RBIs and will continue his career
at Ramapo College. DH - Ken Ouimet, Sr., Monsignor Donovan The Griffins outfielder hit .507 with 35 hits, 24 runs scored, 22 RBIs, 6 doubles, 7 homers and 12 walks, while also registering 11 outfield assists and throwing out seven runners at the plate. UT - Evan Beattie, Sr., Central Beattie helped the Golden Eagles go from a four-win season to Class B South co-champs, as he went 6-3 with one save, a 2.10 ERA and 41 strikeouts in 43 1/3 innings. Named the Class B South Pitcher of the Year, Beattie also played third base and will continue his career at Bloomfield College. UT - Charlie Rivera, Sr., Raritan A Seton Hall recruit, Rivera was the Rockets' top pitcher, while also batting cleanup as the team's shortstop and hitting over .400 for the second straight year. UT - Mark Seibel, Sr., Rumson-FH Seibel was named the Class A Central Co-Pitcher of the Year after going 6-1 with a 1.80 ERA and also hit .380 for the Bulldogs as a designated hitter.
