Seeger
girls and North Vermillion boys were winners of the Wabash River
Conference track meet held on a rainy and cold night at the Trojan
Complex in Covington.
In the girls meet Seeger took first place scoring 165 to best seecond place Covington's 133.
Seeger
took first place in six events including double winner Robin Turner who
was victorious in both the 100 hurdle (17.74) and the 300 Hurdles
(51.69).
Seeger's Alex Kincade won the high jump (4'10") and
Anna Bradley won the 800m (2:40). The Patriots also won two relay
events as the team of Turner, Emily Grundy, Jennifer Haddock, and
Kayleigh Kelp won the 4x100 in 54.56 and the team of Maryah Wilson,
Kaylee Owens, Grundy, and Bradley won the 4x800 in 11:16.
Covington
took first place in 3 events as Lacey Harmon won the 100m Dash (13.62),
Lori Bushue won the 400 (1:05), and the 4x400 relay team of Harmon,
Chelsea Dewlen, Carley Coffman, and Rikee Rickets won with a time of
4:42.
Attica's Mary Mattern was a double winner taking the 1600m (5:57) and the 3200m (12:55).
Rockville's Brittany Sherron was the winner of both the Shot Put (35'2") and the Discus (106'2").
Other
winner were Malori Rudolph of North Vermillion in the Long Jump (14'3")
and Fountain Central's Whitney Shoaf in the 200m (29.11).
In the boys meet North Vermillion barely edged out Seeger 125-123.
North
Vermillion won five events led by Quentin Bemis who took first place in
both the 110 Hurdles (16.42) and 300 Hurdles (42.94). Dennis Webb took
first for NV in the 400m (54.51), Zach Swartz was first in the 800m
(2:08), and the 4 x 400 Relay team of Webb, Swartz, Bemis, and Devin
Morson was first with a time of 3:42.
Seeger won four events led
by Mark Cravatt who won the 100m (11.74) and 200m (23.75). Cravatt
also ran a leg of the winning 4x100 relay team with Ethan Cronk,
Brandon Hulsey, and Jacob Cook. Hulsey also won the Long Jump event
(18'7").
Fountain Central's Mark Beight was a double winner of the 1600m (4:46) and the 3200m (10:30).
Other
field event winners were Attica's Zach Little won the High Jump (6'2"),
Founatin Central's Derek Minick in the Shot Put (47'7"), and
Rockville's James Kent in Discus with a throw of 138'9".
