SB: RP just keeps rolling along

Panthers win own invitational

Riverton Parke won their own Invitational Tourney and remained undefeated on the season beating Northview 6-0 and Eminence 18-4.

 

In game one Haley Chambers improved to 9-0 on the season throwing a complete game 2 hit shut out. She struck out 8 and allowed only 1 walk.

 

Chambers got the RP offense going leading off the RP first inning with a walk. and came around to score on a double by Ashley Kinne.

 

RP added two more runs in the 3rd inning. Sheldan Falls reached on an error leading off the inning. Chambers singled and Mikayla Grindle advanced the runners with a sac bunt. Falls would score on a passed ball and Chambers would score on an RBI ground out by Kinne.

 

RP put the game away in the 5th scoring three times. Falls and Chambers started the rally with a double and single respectively. Grindle had an RBI single, Megan Vincent an RBI double, and Whitney Mathas an RBI double to give RP a 6-0 lead.

 

In game two the Lady Panthers scored three runs in the first inning and broke the game open with a 9 run 2nd inning.

 

Vincent improved to 6-0 on the season with the complete game.

 

Offensively for RP, Chambers was 4 for 5, Elizabeth Dickey was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI, Kinne was 3 for 4 and Jade Tagney was 2 for 3 with a double.

 

Chambers scored her 42 run of the season which establishes a new RP school record. The previous mark of 40 was set by Mandi Martin in the 1998 season.

 

Riverton Parke (20-0) will host Attica at 5:00 and then play North Vermillion at approximately 7:00 tonight. One win will clinch the WRC title for the Lady Panthers.
