Yellowjackets rout Lutheran for semifinal date with McDonogh School Thursday

Chapelgate Christian's softball team extended its winning streak to 11 with a 12-2 decision over Baltimore Lutheran at Western Regional Park in Woodbine Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the IAAM B Conference semifinals where they will host McDonogh School Thursday afternoon.
 
Senior Amanda Webster went 1-for-2 with two walks, scored two runs and had 2 RBI. Freshman Amanda Best, subbing for clean up hitter Jacki Harbison in the second inning, went 2-for-3 and a RBI and two runs scored.

Pitcher Meghan Black helped her cause with two hits and an RBI. Her courtesy runners scored both times she reached. Black struck out nine while walking two and giving up four hits which CCA's stellar defense was stout as catcher Julia Groves threw out her 20th would-be base stealer in 30 attempts.

Shortstop Laurel Ahrens added to her all-time school records in hits (114), runs (134) and RBI's (105) at the leadoff position all 4 years. and steals (58). She was 1-for-2 with a walk, two stolen bases, and a RBI. Chapelgate moves to 15-4 overall.
