Breakdown:

The Eagles are coming off of a 14 win season and advanced to the Class 3A East Regional Semifinals, the farthest the program has been in several years.  Centennial returns all five starters and are posied for a break-out season.

Junior point guard Victoria Pino will be back to run the offense.  Joining Pino in the backcourt will be senior sharp shooter Jess Graeff.  In the frontcourt, senior guard/forward Molly Speicher and center Kristin Anderson won a State title in Volleyball a couple of weeks ago and are ready to continue their winning ways on the basketball court.  Rounding out the returning starters is six-foot junior forward Julia Benjamin who will patrol the paint for the Eagles.

"It's great to have all five back," said head coach Rob Slopek, who is in his fourth year leading the Eagles.  "Its nice not to have to go back and re-teach anything, they understand the system and what we're doing."

Slopek is excited about the possibilities for the 08-09 season with such an experienced cast returning.  The Eagles ran off eight wins out of the 10 last games to finish the season.

"This is one of those years with the seniors we've got and returning all five starters, we want to have a break-through year.  We haven't been in the top three in County in about two or three years.  We want to get back in the top three."
