Breakdown:

The Eagles won six of their last eight games to end the season and advanced to the second round of the playoffs a year ago.  Centennial head coach Chad Hollwedel hopes the team will continue to grow in the 2008-09 season.

"Last year was a year where we were a little inexperienced and the first half of the season it took us a little while to gel but during the course of the season we continued to improve...," said Hollwedel.

"This year I fell like we started out stronger to start the year with a lot of returning experience compared to last year..."

Centennial returns four players that made at least one start last season and eight returning varsity players.  Hollwedel will rely heavily on senior point guard Brandon Adams not only on the offensive end but on defense as well as he is their lockdown defender.

Junior forward Marcos Ocadiz started every game last year as a sophomore and will play a big role in the offense in the post.  Ocadiz spent all summer polishing his post moves and is expected to be a player to watch in the county.

Also in the mix will be senior shooting guard Colin Gibbons and juniors Sean Anderson and Gred Edmonds for the Eagles who will look to replace All-County Second Teamer guard Tandario Bogues who transferred to City College in Baltimore City.

"This year we are much more ready to compete early on," said Hollwedel.
