Breakdown:

Pam Wright is no stranger to winning, she guided New Town's girls team to a State title two years ago and 22-2 record a year ago.  She wwill now look to build Wilde Lake into a contender.

"My expectation coming in is to really start a program here," said Wright. "I'm not so much focused on building a team, I'm more interested in building a program.  Of course, with program comes a team."

Wright has a senior-laden team but none of the players have logged huge minutes in previous seasons.  The Wildecats are still searching for their first win of the season after starting 0-6 overall.

Seniors Latesha Squirrell, Kourtney Holland, Megan Federline, Tiffany Walker and Alex Guinn will look to have good seasons and carry the team.  Wilde Lake lost it's top player in junior guard Shantrel Oliver who transfered to Howard County rival River Hill.

Wilde Lake is a work in progress but given Wright's track record, look for the Wildecats to have an impact on the league in a couple of years.  Wright hopes to instill her passion into her players.

"I want to be competitive," Wright added.  "I don't know the competition [in Howard County] yet but I want to be competitive."
