The Running Jaguars started their season off at Patuxent Park in Upper Marlboro last week. Due to some wear and safety concerns the course was modified, which made it a flatter and faster course. With a few weeks of training under their belts the Jaguars were competitive, getting an opportunity to see other faces like Reservoir of Howard County and Dunbar or Washington DC.

Top finishes went to Troy Brown and Danielle Gaynor. The Jaguars are off for a week and will compete again on Wednesday, September 16 at the famed Fort Washington Park.

The Jaguars are looking forward to a challenging season. The Lady Jaguars return the core of their team from last season which earned runner up honors in the County and Region, and qualified for the State Championships. Several veterans have experienced a great deal of success in the program; Seniors, Denae Ford, Asia Lewis, Ameera Teal, Camille Washington, Tnay Williams look to close out their career at Flowers with an exciting season. While junior Danielle Gaynor look to be an important cog to the Flowers machine. Sarah Tanveer, Jr., sophomore Jean Udo and newcomer Nicole Franklin look to round out the team.

On the boys side they look for leadership from Troy Brown as well as returning runners Lawrence Garrett, and Jordan Lewis looking to qualify for the state meet in November. Coming off a good track season Najee Anderson is looking to make a mark during the Cross Country season, and Tennis player Myron Davis is learning quickly and should be able to have a productive season.
