4/16/08 vs. Northeast Eagles
Lack of hitting, again, sends the Cougars to the loss column. Eagles pitcher Brody Kean scattered four singles in four different innings and allowed only 1 run as the Cougars fell 2-1 at home. Senior Dylan Porter (3-1) pitched well, allowing just 4 Eagle hits and one earned run but suffered his first loss of the season. Porter struck out two and continues to have one of the lowest ERA's in the county, presently 0.84.
The Cougars lone run came in the 6th inning when Senior Justin Robey reached base on a hit-by-pitch, moved to second on senior Zach Shoemaker's sacrifice bunt, and scored on sophomore Shane Troyer's solid single to left center.
The Cougars hope to salvage one win this week on Friday at home against North County.
