4/24/08            vs. Meade Mustangs  @ Meade

        Sophomore Mike Marsh pitches a complete game, earning his first varsity win as the Cougars are a 3-2 winner at Meade. Marsh struck out 4 and walked none, giving up just 5 hits and 2 earned runs. His only rough inning was the 6th when Meade scored their runs on 3 singles, but ended the inning by picking off the runner at second base.
        The Cougars were trailing 2-1 in the top of the 7th when Marsh and senior Dylan Porter reached base on infield hits. After a strike out and a ground out, a throwing error by the Meade catcher scored Marsh from third with the tying run. Then sophomore Jason Seitler roped a single to left, scoring Porter, which ended up being the game-winning RBI.
        An unfortunate note; The Cougars may have lost junior P/SS Jeremy VerHoef for the season when he injured his left elbow sliding into 2nd base, and had to be removed from the field by ambulance.
