4/30/08 vs. North County @ North County High School
Senior pitcher Dylan Porter (4-2) limited a strong North County line up to just 4 runs as the Cougars sweep the season series between the two teams. The Cougars plated 5 runs in the 5th inning while holding off the Knights in the 6th to win, 7-4. Chesapeake had won the first meeting at Chesapeake, 4-2 on April 18th.
The Cougars rebounded from the previous day's loss, pounding out 8 hits while Porter threw a complete game, striking out 5 and only allowing just 1 extra base hit, a 2B in the 3rd. Senior Zach Shoemaker, back from a bout with the flu, led the team with 3 hits and a stolen base and scored 2 runs. Porter had 2 RBI as did sophomore Josh Grimes.
