09/16/2009 -- Chesapeake High School - AA boys' varsity soccer team defeated Northeast High School, 1-0, in a league contest played Wednesday.

CHESAPEAKE TOPS NORTHEAST IN THE RAIN

In spite of a rain-soaked field, Tanner Martz was able to connect with Justin Kestler for the lone goal in this inner-city rivalry. Twenty four minutes into the match, Martz played a one-touch pass forward just in front of the speedy Kestler, who beat the Northeast goal keeper Josh Meekins with a nicely placed chip shot.

Chesapeake improved to 1-0-0 in the county and has an overall record of 3-1-0.
