(13-3) returned to the pitching circle after missing the last 8 games with a high ankle sprain and got the win over Manual which was ranked #7 in the state of Kentucky.

Manual jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but CAL (22-9) got 1 back in the bottom of the first as Gustafson doubled home Suzanne Cooper who had hit a 2-out triple. Jen Woods drew a 1-out walk in the bottom of the second that was followed by a Lauren Woods’ sacrifice. Alison Coggins then drove in Jen with a double and after Meg Gardner walked, Gustafson drove in both Coggins and Gardner with a double and CAL was quickly out in front 6-2.
