The Barstow girls’ tennis team defeated a strong Lee Summit West team 5-4 Wednesday. Seniors Stephanie Dudzinski and Merideth Rock both won their singles handily, 10-0 and 10-1 , and swept quickly through doubles

10-1. In the decisive matches Freshman Kate Sims came from 2-5 down in singles to win 11-9, and Sims and Senior Sydney Ayers prevailed at #2 doubles 10-5 to seal the deal. The girls play to Kansas powerhouses next week, Shawnee Mission East on Monday and St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday.

In JV action all of the girls played well in both doubles and singles. In doubles action Melissa Martin and Rana Aliani won 6-3. In singles Jesse Howitt won 6-3 and Shweta Vadliani won her match 6-1.
