DigitalSports caught up with Syracuse assistant coach Randy Trivers during a recent recruiting trip in Maryland.

Having once guided Northwest of Montgomery County to a Class 4A state title led by quarterback Ike Whitaker, who went on to Virginia Tech, Trivers had some informative things to say about preparing high school football players for college, and what exactly determines the right fit for a recruit academically, athletically and socially.

A graduate of Sherwood High School in Montgomery County, Trivers also served as a former assistant at the University of Maryland on Mark Duffner's staff.
