Real Madrid CF only needed to lose by less than three goals in its opening-round finale with Pachuca FC USA Internationals to clinch a berth in the Tiffany Cup championship game.

With their performance on Thursday, it appeared like Los Merengues thought they needed three-goal victory to qualify.

Real Madrid mechanically beat Pachuca, 3-0, at Georgetown University -- its third win in as many opening-round games -- to advance to the tournament title game against Blackburn Rovers FC.

In the fourth minute, Real Madrid violently tugged the momentum its favor when a cross found attacking midfielder Delfin at the penalty spot. He slammed a left-footed shot into the upper-90 to give Real an immediate 1-0 lead.

It took only 11 more minutes for the La Liga club to double its advantage.

Striker Cristian snuck behind the Pachuca back four on a counterattack and, one-on-one with keeper Seth MacMillan, tucked a left-footed shot into the corner of the net.

Midfield reserve Rafael Perez capped Madrid's scoring in the 53rd minute on a penalty kick.

Real Madrid's championship match with Blackburn Rovers FC, from Blackburn, Lancashire, England, is scheduled for Saturday at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Va., at 11 a.m.

Los Merengues have outscored their opponents, 9-2, in their three games.
