Offensive rebound leads to game-winning score for the Cardinals.
First year Calvert Hall basketball coach John Bauersfeld got his second MIAA A Conference win on Sunday, as Greg Terry scored on a put back, with nine seconds left, to give the visiting Cardinals a thrilling, 54-52, victory over Cardinal Gibbons, at the Mullis gymnasium on Sunday.
Sean Holmes and Jonathan Graham combined for 30 points for the Cardinals (8-8, 2-4 MIAA, 1-2 BCL), in a game that was nip and tuck all the way.
Gibbons held a one point lead when the Cardinals Kyle Wise went to the line for two shots with nine seconds left, and the Hall trailing by one. He hit the first to tie the game, but missed the second. Terry grabbed the rebound and went to the glass for the game winner..
Sophomore Justin Kuntz returned to the Gibbons line-up and was a factor, leading the Crusaders with 15.
