The Prince George's County football playoff picture is perfectly patent. Teams and players will look to be princes of their playing fields and in turn permanently place themselves in the state history books.

Perfect has been the modus operandi of the No. 1 seeded Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders this season as it enters the playoffs with a 10-0 regular season record. Although they have managed to have a pleasant regular season, the Raiders had a few bumps along the road in its quest for perfection.

The Raiders gave up 22 points in a 24-22 victory over Henry Wise on Oct. 13, its closest margin of victory all year, and it's opening-round playoff opponent -- Henry Wise.

As the Raiders have been perfect, Wise has been poised. After losing three of its first five games, Wise has won its last five to earn a berth as the No. 4 seed in the 4A South playoffs. The fifth win --34-14 over Oxon Hill last Saturday -- earned Wise (7-3) a trip to Roosevelt.

The Raiders will host Wise Saturday with a scheduled start time of 1 p.m.

There were many historic heavyweight bouts in the history of boxing, Ali-Foreman, Ali-Liston, and Frazier-Foreman to name a few. However, in the middle of the 4A South regional playoffs, there is another classic heavyweight battle set to take place, only in the sport of football.

C.H. Flowers (9-1, No. 2 seed) will host Suitland (8-2, No. 3 seed) in a game scheduled to start at 1 p.m. in the second round of this heavyweight battle.

Thanks to a proverbial knock-out punch provided by Flowers running back Reginald Woods as he scored the game winning touchdown in a 20-14 victory over Suitland on Nov. 1, Flowers earned the home-field advantage for the round 2 battle.

In the 3A South, Friendly (8-2, No. 2 seed) finds itself amongst three Southern Maryland Athletic Conference teams and will host Westlake (8-2, No. 3 seed) Friday night at 7 p.m. in what is sure to be a battle of offensive and defensive teams.

The Friendly defense has only given up on average 11 points per game and will face a Westlake team that averaged 35.9 points per game offensively during the regular season.

Frederick Douglass-PG (8-2, No. 3 seed) earned a berth in the 2A South playoffs after a 26-12 victory Saturday over regional-foe Gwynn Park. In doing so, Douglass also earned a trip to North Point (8-2, No. 2 seed) Friday at 7 p.m.

Gwynn Park (8-2, No. 4 seed) will visit the top seed in the 2A South Regional playoffs, River Hill (10-0, Howard County) Friday night.

In the 1A playoffs, Forestville Military Academy earned a No. 4 seed on the heels of a 5-5 season. Forestville will travel to Dunbar (9-1, No. 1 seed) Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.
