Tyler Klitsch pitched a complete game to earn the win for the Eagles and drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly. He struck out five and allowed just five hits.
Down by 2 runs going into the bottom of the 7th, Erich Bacchus drew a leadoff walk, followed by a single to left center by Lorenzo Christy. Mark Henderson worked back from an 0-2 count to draw a walk to load the bases for Brian Black, who tied the game with a 2 RBI single to right.
Russell Main was walked to load the bases and set up a force play at the plate, but the Trojans were foiled when Klitsch hit a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Henderson. Earlier, Black had driven in Christy with the first Eagle run, while Henderson had doubled down the left field line to drive in Bacchus with the second Eagle run.
For Gaithersburg, Tyler Warren was 2-for-2 with 3 RBI and Max Heldman went 2-for-3.
Gaithersburg pitcher Nick Riley went 4 1/3 innings striking out five batters while walking three and giving up two hits for Gaithersburg.
The Eagles will travel to Magruder on Monday at Gaithersburg goes to Wootton on Tuesday.
